Civil Design Engineer

As an international company, we are looking for a Civil Design Engineer in Philippines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Qualifications:

• Licensed or Registered Civil Engineer, or with equivalent certification (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years Civil Design experience preferably in power industry, renewable energy, Solar PV, and/or BESS projects.
• Familiar with relevant building codes (e.g. IEC, ASTM, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocode, AU-NZ standards, IBC) and international standards is plus
• Can perform and prepare Civil Analysis Design, Calculations, with experience in preparing BoQs, cost estimates, technical specifications, and accurately extracting material quantities from design drawings
• Experience in cost estimation, tender proposal preparation, and project cost management.
• Experience in preparing detailed design, IFC drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Experience or knowledgeable in preparing bill of quantity/bill of material take-offs from design drawings and technical documents
• Experienced in desktop studies and research for hazard risk mapping, including seismic, snow, flood, environmental, geological, geographical, and hydrological risks, etc is an advantage
• Experience in preparing civil and infrastructure design calculations and reports, including roadways, drainage systems, earthworks modeling (cut & fill), site grading, stormwater management, and utility layouts.
• Drainage design experience based on prepared hydrological surface models
• Proficient in Civil Design software such as Civil 3D, Storm/Water CAD etc.
• Experience in conducting Swept path analysis for road design and access planning
• Familiar with Autodesk products and experience with other simulation and calculation tools, Google Earth Pro, GIS tools is an advantage
• Knowledgeable in construction methodologies/techniques and health and safety standard in diverse geographical and climatic conditions
• Working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and sustainable design principles
• With experienced on hydrological surface & rainfall event modelling (defining the catchment zones and observing the flood depths by using well-known software's in the market)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across INTEC’s Philippine office and international branches
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
• Open / enthusiastic about learning and self-development
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal

Job Description

• Perform technical tasks assigned by the Civil Structural Manager/Lead Design Engineer such as civil design and analyses, calculation report, verification or study activities, review specification and other technical engineering reports/documents
• Prepares civil drawings, sketches, and detailed 2D/3D layouts for roads, drainage, site grading, earthworks,x` foundations, and utility infrastructure, and performs corresponding civil design studies, calculations, and technical reports
• Conduct and prepare advanced research and desktop studies for site-specific planning and design, including geological, geographical, hydrological, and hydraulic assessments; topographic survey analysis; hazard mapping and risk evaluation (e.g., seismic activity, flood, snow load, environmental risks); site grading and earthworks studies; stormwater management and drainage analysis; flood risk assessments; and access road and infrastructure design
• Interpret site survey and geotechnical report for the preparation of civil design models and layouts.
• Prepares and review of as-built documentation and post-construction evaluations.
• Coordinate and Interface with other project team/disciplines and designers
• Preparation and review of in-house civil drawings/sketches, and layouts
• Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from clients and assess project requirements to ensure alignment with design capabilities and project goals.
• Review tender documents from clients and contribute to the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including proposed costs for solar farm and BESS projects.
• Collaborate with the engineering/procurement team to estimate project costs, including material, labor, and logistical expenses, for both civil design and infrastructure development.
• Prepare Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation for final submission to the client and construction teams.
• Ensure that all designs and documentation comply with client specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Develop and prepare BoQ’s/Cost Estimates, and material take-offs based on technical drawings/documents, and design models/drawings or layouts.
• Prepares and develop accurate BoQs, cost estimates, and technical specifications
• Attend meetings with clients, engineering team, and project stakeholders.
• Developing detailed layouts and civil design packages that meet all contractual, code, and permitting requirements
• Developing technical specifications and scopes of work for subcontracting engineering firms and contractor
• In line with the growth targets of the company to develop the strategies that are created, to contribute and support the long-term success and sustainability of the company
• Prepares meeting minutes and maintains accurate technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and design packages, for both internal and external use within INTEC
• Preparation & communication of scope of work for external structural companies/engineers
• Ensure that civil design reports and deliverables are complete and align with the scope of work, while evaluating and optimizing designs and proposals from external companies/clients and stakeholders during the tender phase.
