INTEC Energy is a leader in renewable energy solutions, specialising in the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of solar power projects. With a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality solar energy systems that meet the growing demand for clean energy.

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Specialist in High Voltage Equipment in Electrical Substations of 220KV or higher levels. The ideal candidate will be a key part of our engineering team, assuming comprehensive responsibility for the life cycle of main high-voltage equipment. This responsibility covers from initial conception and conceptual design to detailed engineering, preparation of technical specifications for equipment purchase, supervision of assembly, and on-site commissioning.

Location: Madrid, hybrid.

Main Responsibilities:

Design and Engineering:

  • Perform and/or supervise relevant electrical calculations, such as equipment sizing, short-circuit studies, insulation coordination, grounding studies, and power cable selection.
  • Prepare and/or review detailed technical specifications for the purchase of primary equipment, ensuring compliance with national and international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.) and specific project requirements.
  • Perform technical and economic tabulation of bids from primary equipment suppliers.
  • Supervise and coordinate the manufacturing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), transport, and installation phases of primary equipment.
  • Manage the technical interface with suppliers, contractors, and other departments involved in the project.
  • Supervise the on-site assembly and installation of primary equipment, ensuring correct execution according to plans and specifications.
  • Lead or actively participate in on-site acceptance tests (SAT) and in the commissioning of primary equipment and associated systems.
  • Resolve technical problems that arise during installation and commissioning.
  • Collaborate in the development of preventive and corrective operation and maintenance plans and procedures for primary equipment.
  • Ensure that all designs, equipment, and procedures comply with applicable electrical safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: University Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in the design, specification, installation, and/or maintenance of primary equipment in high-voltage electrical substations (preferably 220kV or higher, both AIS and GIS).
  • Experience in interpreting electrical drawings and control schematics.
  • Experience in supervising construction and commissioning of substations will be valued.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of the operating principles, design, construction, and testing of primary substation equipment.
  • Familiarity with international technical standards (IEC, IEEE).
  • Knowledge of electrical design and simulation software (e.g., ETAP, DigSILENT PowerFactory, AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and precise technical reports.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
