QA/QC Engineer – Mauritania

With over 200 projects successfully delivered worldwide and offices across Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Australia, we provide Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), Project Development, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and Technical Consulting services.

We are currently looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join our project team in Mauritania and support the implementation and monitoring of quality management activities throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the project.

Position Overview

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality assurance and quality control activities on site, ensuring that construction and installation works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, project requirements, applicable standards, and INTEC's quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the project Quality Management Plan and relevant QA/QC procedures on site.
  • Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks across construction activities.
  • Review and verify material certificates, inspection reports, test results, and other quality documentation.
  • Ensure that incoming materials and equipment are inspected and comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
  • Coordinate and witness inspections, tests, and quality control activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
  • Identify non-conformities, quality deficiencies, and deviations and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Prepare, issue, and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Inspection Requests (SIRs), and other quality documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date QA/QC records, inspection reports, test certificates, and quality dossiers.
  • Support the preparation and review of Method Statements, ITPs, checklists, and inspection procedures.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team regarding technical queries, design changes, and quality-related issues.
  • Participate in internal, client, and third-party inspections and audits.
  • Monitor testing and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
  • Track punch-list items and ensure timely closure of outstanding quality issues.
  • Support the preparation of final quality documentation and project handover dossiers.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across the project site and ensure compliance with company and project requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA/QC Engineer in construction, renewable energy, power generation, or industrial projects.
  • Previous experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience with QA/QC processes, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, NCRs, inspection requests, and quality documentation.
  • Good knowledge of construction quality standards, inspection procedures, and quality management systems.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and third-party inspectors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced international project environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • French is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in Mauritania, Africa, or other international projects is an advantage.
  • Relevant QA/QC certifications such as ISO 9001, Lead Auditor, or similar are an advantage.
