As an international company, we are looking for a Project Director based in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end EPC project delivery for utility-scale, ground-mounted solar PV systems, from NTP to final handover.
  • Coordinate between internal engineering, procurement, logistics, construction, and HSE teams.
  • Supervise and guide site engineers, subcontractors, and local partners to ensure effective project execution.
  • Monitor and control project schedule, cost, and quality performance indicators.
  • Conduct regular site visits to oversee construction progress, HSE compliance, and contractor performance.
  • Manage project documentation, reports, and change control procedures in alignment with company standards.
  • Identify potential risks and implement proactive mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, client specifications, and international EPC standards.
  • Maintain close communication with the Project Director, providing regular progress updates, forecasts, and issue resolutions.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover phases ensuring all contractual and technical deliverables are met.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in EPC project management, preferably within solar PV or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven track record of managing utility-scale solar projects (10+ MWp) from design through commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of EPC contracts, HSE standards, and quality control processes.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is an advantage.
  • Willingness to be based in Nouakchott, Mauritania for the project duration.
