As part of our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Mauritania and support the successful delivery of large-scale Solar PV projects.

Position Overview:

The Project Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of utility-scale solar PV projects by coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, quality, and commissioning activities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Project Engineer ensures that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and technical requirements.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years of experience in EPC projects.
  • Previous experience on utility-scale Solar PV projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience working on international construction projects and in remote site environments is considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of utility-scale Solar PV systems and EPC project execution.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience with project planning, monitoring, and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is considered an advantage.

Languages

  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • French is highly desirable.
  • Arabic is considered an advantage.

Working Conditions

  • Rotation schedule may be applied depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring all project activities.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively identify risks, delays, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Engineering Management

  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications between engineering teams and site personnel.
  • Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Contribute to design optimization and value engineering initiatives.

Construction Support

  • Monitor daily site activities and construction progress.
  • Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely execution of project activities.
  • Verify that completed works comply with project requirements and quality standards.

Procurement & Material Management

  • Coordinate material deliveries and monitor procurement progress.
  • Review technical datasheets, specifications, and bid documentation.
  • Participate in the technical evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure the timely availability of materials and equipment on site.

Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)

  • Ensure compliance with the project's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Participate in QA/QC inspections and maintain the associated quality documentation.
  • Promote compliance with company HSE policies and site safety procedures.
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective action processes.

Project Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
  • Monitor project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain up-to-date project records and technical documentation.
  • Assist in preparing reports for clients and senior management.

Commissioning & Project Handover

  • Participate in testing and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate Punch List management and close-out activities.
  • Assist in preparing project close-out documentation.
  • Support final acceptance procedures and project handover to the client.
