We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to join our project team in Mauritania and supervise mechanical installation activities on a large-scale renewable energy project.

Position Overview

The Mechanical Site Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical installation works, ensuring that activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily mechanical installation activities in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Oversee installation of Solar PV mounting structures, trackers, mechanical equipment, steel structures, and associated systems.
  • Supervise mechanical works related to Solar PV, BESS, Wind, and associated site infrastructure, where applicable.
  • Coordinate mechanical activities with Civil, Electrical, Structural, QA/QC, HSE, and other site teams.
  • Supervise subcontractors and mechanical crews, monitor daily progress, and report site issues, delays, and technical concerns.
  • Review mechanical drawings, layouts, and installation details and coordinate the resolution of site-related technical issues with the Engineering team.
  • Ensure proper installation, alignment, torqueing, and handling of mechanical components and equipment.
  • Coordinate inspections with QA/QC and ensure defects, punch-list items, and inspection findings are properly closed.
  • Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities related to mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with site HSE procedures and safe working practices, including lifting and work-at-height requirements.
  • Maintain daily site records, progress reports, inspection documentation, and installation records.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Supervisor, Mechanical Supervisor, or similar role in construction, power, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
  • Previous experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with PV mounting structures, trackers, steel structures, mechanical equipment, and site installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications, and method statements.
  • Experience supervising mechanical subcontractors, technicians, and site crews.
  • Good understanding of mechanical installation, inspection, alignment, torqueing, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Good knowledge of site HSE requirements, including lifting operations and work-at-height safety.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced international project environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in Mauritania, Africa, or other international projects is an advantage.
  • Experience in BESS, Wind, or tracker systems is a plus.
