We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Site Engineer (Electrical) to join our team on a large-scale PV / BESS projects based in Australia & New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large electrical infrastructure, including the installation of switchgear, transformers, inverters, and cabling, ideally with experience in energy storage, substations, or large-scale electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all electrical construction activities on site to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical documentation before execution.
  • Monitor installation works related to MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, inverters, battery systems, SCADA, communication systems, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Ensure electrical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project schedules, and applicable international standards.
  • Support inspection activities, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems.
  • Prepare and review inspection requests (IRs), work inspection records, punch lists, and daily progress reports.
  • Identify technical issues during construction and work closely with engineering teams to implement practical solutions.
  • Monitor construction progress and report schedule deviations, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture on site.
  • Participate in quality inspections, FAT/SAT follow-up, and project handover activities.
  • Support as-built documentation and final project close-out documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, substations, or other power generation projects.
  • Proven experience in electrical construction supervision for EPC projects.
  • Good understanding of MV/LV systems, substations, transformers, protection systems, SCADA, and communication networks.
  • Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of IEC standards and international electrical codes.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work on project sites.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience on utility-scale Solar PV projects (50 MW+).
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Experience working with international EPC contractors.
  • Familiarity with Australian and/or New Zealand electrical standards and grid requirements.
  • Experience working in multicultural project environments.
