  • Design MV and LV electrical systems, including cable routing, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, protection coordination, and grounding systems.
  • Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, cable schedules, trench layouts, termination drawings, and detailed construction drawings.
  • Design DC systems including PV strings, combiner boxes, DC cable routing, and inverter connections.
  • Design AC collection systems, transformer stations, switchgear connections, and grid interconnection systems.
  • Review and interpret employer requirements, grid code requirements, technical specifications, and applicable international standards.
  • Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, SCADA, Procurement, and Construction teams throughout the engineering phase.
  • Review vendor documentation for transformers, inverters, MV equipment, switchgear, protection relays, and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform technical evaluations of supplier proposals and provide technical clarifications during procurement activities.
  • Support engineering activities during tendering and business development by preparing technical documentation and conceptual designs.
  • Review EPC subcontractor designs and ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and design modifications throughout project execution.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and project handover.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, inspections, and site acceptance activities when required.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with IEC standards, local regulations, and company engineering procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems used in utility-scale solar power plants.
  • Experience designing MV collection systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, grounding systems, and protection systems.
  • Strong understanding of grid connection requirements and electrical coordination studies.
  • Experience performing electrical engineering calculations, including cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit, grounding, and protection coordination studies.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation from electrical equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with IEC standards and international electrical design codes.
  • Previous experience supporting construction, testing, and commissioning activities is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PVsyst, or equivalent electrical design and analysis software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced international EPC environment.
  • Professional proficiency in English is mandatory; French is considered a strong advantage.
