INTEC Energy Solutions delivers best-in-class services in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Project Development, Consultancy, and Operation & Maintenance, along with New Energy Solutions. With a globally experienced team, INTEC has managed over 200 projects and achieved an installed and secured capacity of 5 GW. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, INTEC also operates offices in Germany, Türkiye, Spain, Azerbaijan, Romania, Mauritius, Mauritania, Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, with plans for further expansion.

Summary

We are seeking a Business Development Manager with a strong commercial orientation to lead origination and market development for utility-scale renewable energy EPC projects across the African continent. Based primarily in Morocco, the role focuses on Solar PV, BESS and hybrid solutions, building and qualifying a robust project pipeline and consolidating INTEC's commercial presence in priority African markets.

This is not a purely administrative role. The Business Development Manager will identify and develop opportunities, cultivate long-term relationships with developers, IPPs, utilities, financial institutions and public institutions, and act as INTEC's commercial point of reference across the region.

The successful candidate will combine a deep knowledge of African renewable energy markets with the ability to translate origination into qualified, biddable opportunities, working in close coordination with the tendering, engineering, legal and finance functions.

This position reports directly to the Global Director of Business Development and operates with a high degree of autonomy across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead origination and business development for utility-scale Solar PV, BESS and hybrid EPC projects across African markets, with Morocco as the operational base.
  • Build, qualify and maintain a robust and well-prioritized project pipeline aligned with INTEC's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with developers, IPPs, utilities, EPC clients, financial institutions and relevant public bodies across the region.
  • Identify and assess new market-entry opportunities, monitoring regulatory frameworks, tender programs, auction schemes and incentive structures in each target country.
  • Act as INTEC's commercial point of reference in Africa, representing the company before clients, partners and at industry events.
  • Translate origination into qualified, biddable opportunities, ensuring a smooth handover to the tendering and proposals function.
  • Coordinate closely with the tendering, engineering, legal and finance teams to shape competitive and deliverable offers.
  • Support the negotiation of term sheets, MoUs and EPC contracts in coordination with senior leadership and the legal department.
  • Build local partnerships and consortium structures where required to meet localization, balance-sheet or market-access requirements.
  • Maintain accurate market intelligence on competitors, pricing benchmarks and supply-chain conditions across the region.
  • Translate client and market insight into the pricing and bid strategy to improve INTEC's competitive positioning.
  • Keep pipeline and CRM records up to date, providing regular reporting and forecasting to management.
  • Contribute to the definition of INTEC's regional growth strategy and annual business plan.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Proven business development and origination experience of 7 to 10 years in the renewable energy, energy or infrastructure sectors, ideally in utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
  • Solid knowledge of African renewable energy markets, with an established network of relevant contacts across the region: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal and South Africa, among others.
  • Proven ability to build and convert a project pipeline, from origination to biddable opportunity.
  • Sound knowledge of EPC business models, project structuring and the fundamentals of project finance.
  • Experience with tender and auction processes in African markets.
  • Strong commercial vision, negotiation skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously across multiple countries and cultural environments, with availability to travel frequently across the region.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluent in English and French; Arabic and/or Spanish will be a significant advantage.
  • Right to work in Morocco or availability to relocate.
  • Passion for sustainability and commitment to quality and innovation.
