INTEC Energy Solutions to deliver 171 MWp Solar Farm project in Glorit, North Auckland, New Zealand

INTEC Energy Solutions (INTEC) has been awarded the lead engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Lightsource bp and Contact Energy for the Glorit Solar Farm Project, located on the Kaipara Coast north of Kaukapakapa in North Auckland, New Zealand.

The Glorit project will deliver approximately 171MWp of solar generation capacity, helping to bring new renewable energy into New Zealand’s electricity grid. The consented project is located on the Kaipara Coast and is expected to generate enough electricity to power the equivalent to around 40,000 homes annually.  The design and construction will also incorporate flexibility for future energy storage and firming capability, contributing to New Zealand’s renewable energy portfolio diversification.

INTEC will lead the full EPC scope for the project, working in partnership with COMPLANT for Lightsource bp and Contact Energy. The full project scope will also include HV works and O&M management upon completion. Construction is now scheduled to commence, with completion expected in the second half of 2028. The project will create employment opportunities during construction, support regional businesses through supply chain partnerships, and contribute additional renewable electricity to New Zealand’s grid.

Phil Wood, Country Manager AU/NZ at INTEC, says: “Glorit marks another significant milestone in INTEC’s project delivery portfolio, as we continue going from strength to strength across Australia and New Zealand. We’re pleased to contribute to the diversification of New Zealand’s renewable energy landscape, bringing the latest technology to support the country’s renewable energy future. At INTEC, futureproofing for technology and storage advancements is a key focus across all our projects. This approach ensures that any new utility-scale infrastructure investment stays adaptable and continues to deliver long-term value as the energy market evolves. We’re proud to continue supporting Lightsource bp with our international EPC and O&M experience on the Glorit Solar Farm project.”

INTEC has maintained an active presence across Australia and New Zealand, delivering renewable energy projects that support the region’s transition to clean energy. The company works closely with clients, combining strong local project delivery with global technical experience to turn complex projects into reality.
