We are looking for an experienced Civil Site Manager to join our project team in Mauritania and manage civil construction activities on a large-scale hybrid renewable energy project.
Position Overview
The Civil Site Manager will manage civil works on site, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily civil construction activities and site teams.
- Oversee earthworks, foundations, concrete works, roads, drainage, fencing, and cable trenches.
- Coordinate civil works related to Solar PV, BESS, Wind, and site infrastructure.
- Supervise subcontractors and monitor progress, productivity, and site constraints.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, QA/QC, HSE, and Commissioning teams.
- Review drawings and resolve technical and construction issues with the Engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with quality requirements and closure of NCRs and punch-list items.
- Monitor construction progress and prepare site reports.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.
- Support testing, completion, and handover of civil works.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Civil Site Manager, Civil Construction Manager, or similar role.
- Strong experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with earthworks, foundations, concrete works, roads, drainage, and site infrastructure.
- Experience managing subcontractors and construction teams.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Good knowledge of construction quality and HSE requirements.
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English is required; French is an advantage.
- International, Mauritania, or Africa project experience is an advantage.
- Experience in BESS or Wind projects is a plus.
