The Construction Manager will be responsible for leading all on-site construction activities, ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of the project. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary construction teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage site resources, and ensure full compliance with project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and contractual obligations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in utility-scale solar EPC projects, and the ability to manage complex construction activities in an international project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all construction activities for the utility-scale Solar PV project.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning works.
  • Supervise EPC subcontractors and monitor construction quality, productivity, and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, HSE regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and construction performance.
  • Coordinate closely with the Project Director, Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
  • Review construction methodologies, work plans, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Manage site logistics, workforce planning, equipment, and material coordination.
  • Identify construction risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
  • Prepare construction progress reports and management updates.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and final project handover activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, local authorities, and project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience in EPC projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects.
  • Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction planning, site execution, quality management, and HSE practices.
  • Experience with MV/HV systems, substations, transmission infrastructure, and grid connection works is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international EPC standards and project delivery methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent planning software is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English is mandatory.
  • French is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate to Nouakchott, Mauritania and work on-site.
