As part of our international growth, we are currently seeking a Project Planner to join our team in Mauritania.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling construction projects.
- Previous experience in planning utility-scale solar PV projects is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with project planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare project schedules, progress reports, and performance analyses.
- Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor detailed project budgets in accordance with the CSI Cost Code structure.
- Prepare monthly cash flow and revenue forecasts.
- Report project progress, budget performance, and cash flow status to the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Maintain regular site reporting to monitor project costs and schedule performance.
- Track contract variations, prepare schedule and cost impact analyses, and support the preparation of claims and variation orders.
- Develop, maintain, and update baseline project schedules, incorporating manpower, cost, and material resources.
- Ensure consistency between committed cost reports and accounting records.
- Support the development of procurement registers and monitor procurement schedules.
- Track progress payments, procurement activities, shipments, and subcontract agreements.
- Travel to project sites to support planning, budgeting, forecasting activities, and participate in PMO and site coordination meetings.
- Analyze project cash inflows and outflows against cash flow forecasts and consolidate cash flow data across multiple projects to provide an overall financial outlook.
- Review and verify invoices to ensure the correct allocation of project costs.
- Develop and implement proactive solutions and cost optimization initiatives.
- Review project budgets and milestone payment schedules together with the Project Manager.
- Present planning strategies, analyses, and recommendations effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Support project teams by providing planning guidance, training, and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
- Organize and facilitate annual planning and scheduling sessions.
- Maintain and regularly update project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop innovative planning strategies and implement operational improvements, processes, and best practices.
- Define and maintain landed cost criteria while ensuring that variances between estimated and actual costs are regularly monitored, reviewed, and corrected.
- Proactively analyze variances, communicate findings to relevant departments, and evaluate operational risks and opportunities.
- Prepare, maintain, and contribute to monthly management review reports.
- Monitor and evaluate project Earned Value Management (EVM) performance.
- Track project performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
