As an international company, we are looking for a SCADA Engineer based in Makati City, Manila Philippines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, Mechanical (with energy systems focus), Automation, Control Systems Engineering, or Computer Science (industrial control systems focus).
  • SCADA-specific certifications (e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric), proficiency with SCADA platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Wonderware), and hands-on experience in control systems design, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLC, RTU, and HMI systems.
  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, Certified SCADA Security Architect) and expertise in industrial networking and communication standards within SCADA systems.
  • 5 Years +Experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, hydropower) and grid integration, along with the ability to integrate renewable energy equipment (e.g., inverters, transformers) into SCADA systems.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, C++, SQL) and proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, custom dashboards).
  • Proficient in industrial automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, Ethernet/IP) and familiarity with regulatory standards for SCADA and renewable energy grid integration.
  • Field experience in commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades of renewable energy systems, along with the ability to work in remote environments and travel for system monitoring
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills, combined with effective communication, team collaboration, and vendor management skills
  • Experience reviewing SCADA system designs for quality, functionality, and compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems for renewable energy facilities, ensuring proper integration of sensors, controllers, and data acquisition equipment, while defining control systems for substations and PV plants and BESS.
  • Develop Basis of Design
  • Develop system architecture
  • Develop communication interface drawings, GA drawings, I/O drawings, and Optical Fiber ring networks.
  • Integrate SCADA system with inverters, transformers, battery management systems (BMS), weather stations and other power system components.
  • Ensure compatibility with existing or new Energy Management Systems (EMS) and remote operations centers
  • Manage interfaces with other disciplines, vendors, and project teams, ensuring SCADA system integration, contributing to requisition and vendor offers, and overseeing the preparation of engineering packages, BOQs, and MTOs.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, user manuals, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, cybersecurity requirements, and local grid codes
  • Conduct technical reviews of SCADA system designs, ensuring alignment with project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems related to SCADA system performance, including data transmission, system errors, and equipment malfunctions. Ensure the security and accuracy of SCADA systems, implementing data protection measures like encryption, firewalls, and protocols, and maintaining data accuracy for reliable analysis and reporting
  • Contribute to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and FAT/SAT procedures, ensuring all SCADA system components meet technical and operational requirements before deployment.
  • Oversee SCADA commissioning activities on-site or remotely.
  • Define technical specifications and requirements for SCADA hardware, software, and communication equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards
  • Review and approve technical documentation provided by vendors.

Financial management and reporting

  • Responsible for ensuring that decisions are made within approved business unit budget and financial delegated authority.
  • Provide regular reporting to Manager on status of all work (as relevant).

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation at all times for self and your team.
