As part of our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Logistics Officer to join our team in Mauritania and support the successful delivery of large-scale Solar PV projects.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Logistics Officer to join our project team in Mauritania. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring logistics activities throughout the project, ensuring the timely and efficient movement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment to support uninterrupted site operations.

The Logistics Officer will work closely with the Procurement, Construction, Warehouse, Project Management, and subcontractor teams to ensure that logistics activities are carried out in accordance with project requirements, company procedures, and applicable local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics activities for the project, including transportation, shipment, customs clearance, delivery, and material handling.
  • Monitor the movement of project materials and equipment from suppliers to the project site.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, transport companies, customs brokers, and local authorities.
  • Prepare and maintain logistics documentation, including shipping documents, delivery notes, customs documentation, and transportation records.
  • Track shipments and provide regular updates regarding delivery schedules, delays, and potential logistics risks.
  • Coordinate customs clearance processes and ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse and Site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment according to construction priorities.
  • Monitor transportation schedules and coordinate loading, unloading, and delivery activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials and equipment.
  • Support the planning and optimization of transportation routes, storage requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Identify potential logistics issues and proactively develop solutions to minimize project delays.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Project Management teams regarding material availability and delivery priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with company logistics procedures, project requirements, and applicable local regulations.
  • Monitor logistics-related costs and support cost-effective transportation and delivery solutions.
  • Prepare regular logistics reports and provide relevant information to project management.
  • Support the implementation of efficient logistics processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or material coordination, preferably within construction, infrastructure, energy, or renewable energy projects.
  • Experience working on international projects and coordinating cross-border logistics is highly desirable.
  • Practical knowledge of international transportation, shipping, customs clearance, and import/export procedures.
  • Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs agents, suppliers, and transportation companies.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple logistics activities simultaneously.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced project environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French and/or Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to be based in Mauritania and work in a project/site environment.
