We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our team in Mauritania and support the engineering and execution of large-scale solar PV projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop civil and structural engineering designs for utility-scale solar PV projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design calculations in accordance with international design codes and project specifications.
• Design reinforced concrete foundations, driven piles, screw piles, and other foundation systems based on geotechnical investigations.
• Review and interpret geotechnical reports, topographical surveys, and site investigation data.
• Design site grading, earthworks, access roads, drainage systems, culverts, retaining structures, and erosion & sediment control measures.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, design reports, technical specifications, Bills of Quantity (BOQ), and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Review EPC contractor and subcontractor civil & structural designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate and manage external engineering consultants and structural design companies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate and optimize foundation designs, pile embedment lengths, and structural solutions for cost efficiency and constructability.
• Participate in pull-out tests, geotechnical investigations, and other field verification activities.
• Support technical due diligence, feasibility studies, tender engineering, and value engineering activities.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and design change requests during construction.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify that civil and structural works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project handover.
• Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Quality, HSE, and Project Management teams throughout project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in civil and structural engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundation engineering, and soil mechanics.
• Experience in reviewing geotechnical reports and designing foundations under different soil conditions.
• Experience with site grading, drainage systems, roads, earthworks, and stormwater management.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations, construction drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and BOMs.
• Experience reviewing contractor and consultant engineering deliverables.
• Familiarity with international design standards such as Eurocodes, ACI, ASCE, IBC, ASTM, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of PV structures, tracker systems, inverter stations, transformer foundations, and Balance of System (BOS) infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Experience supporting construction teams during site execution is an advantage.
• Professional proficiency in English is mandatory.
• French is considered a strong advantage.
