As an international company, we are looking for an Office Manager based in Nouakchott-Nord Region, Mauritania.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a proactive and organized Office Manager who will play a key role in ensuring smooth office operations while also providing essential HR support for local hiring coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, experience in managing office environments, and a working knowledge of human resources practices, particularly in recruitment and employee onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Management:
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring a productive and positive work environment.
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and maintenance to ensure all are in working order.
- Coordinate office events, meetings, and travel arrangements for the team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, vendors, and external service providers.
- Develop and maintain filing systems, office policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manage office health and safety programs.
HR Support:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and liaising with candidates.
- Help coordinate and manage local hiring efforts, including assisting with job descriptions, job boards, and recruitment agencies.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and conducting welcome sessions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper documentation for HR-related activities.
- Assist with benefits administration and assist employees with HR inquiries.
- Support the performance review and employee engagement processes as needed.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with payroll data entry and timesheet management.
- Maintain and update employee files and HR systems in compliance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective communication and alignment on HR and office needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Office Manager or similar role in a professional environment.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in HR support, with exposure to recruitment and employee relations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and office management software.
- Familiarity with HR software and tools is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of local labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with HR administration and office management.
